The Cardinal Rules

Everyone has their own values, their own principles that they live their life by. Certain ideals that guide them in decision making or just in living life. These are mine. They make sense to me. I may not always live up to them because I'm a deeply flawed man but they're what I always aspire to. Here they are, in no particular order.


Cherish your family and friends. You only have a limited time with them so make the most of it.

Do the right thing, especially when it's hard.

As hard as it is sometimes, forgive mistakes. Your own and others'.

Compassion is a virtue to be cherished, not a weakness to be despised.

Arrogance diminishes wisdom.

Be honest. About everything.

For better or worse, be who you are.

Never stop trying.

Never cross your friends.
