Solitude

There's a big difference between being alone and being lonely.Lonely is when you're by yourself and you crave to be around people. Being alone is when you're by yourself and you feel fine. Being alone means you're comfortable with the silence. I am definitely the latter. I enjoy being alone. I don't think there are words strong enough to convey just how much I cherish my solitude. Now don't get me wrong, I have friends and I like to go out and have a good time but there are times when I have to get away from everybody and everything. It makes me feel better. I've spent my life being ignored, overlooked. So I got used to being alone with my thoughts pretty quickly. Along the way, I kind of developed a low tolerance for people. I've become very selective about who I associate with. Life's too short to spend it around people you can't stand. So I have a very stringent process to weed out those who I do and do not hang out with. Most people think I'm arrogant and that's true to some degree. But I'm not really. I'm just very picky. If people think I'm arrogant, well it's a price I'm willing to pay in order to protect my solitude and my sanity. Thanks for reading this random rant. Peace!
