A Connoiseur of Crime Fiction
I love mystery novels and crime fiction. I love pitting my knowledge against the writer's and trying to figure out who committed the crime before I reach the end of the book. It's one way I get my kicks. Today I just wanted to give out a quick list of authors of suspense fiction and a good reading list 4 anyone interested.
Michael Connelly- The Poet. This book WILL keep you up all night guessing and you WILL be wrong.
Walter Mosley- Little Scarlet. Known 4 writing a series of mysteries with black protagonist Easy Rawlins, this in my opinion is the best of the series.
Dennis Lehane- Mystic River. His first stand alone book and a drama drenched character study disguised as a crime novel. Had previously written a series of 5 crime novels set in Massachusetts.Excellent series, definetly worth a read.
James Swain- Mr.Lucky. Using a 60 year old retired Atlantic City casino cop who now spends his retirement catching casino cheaters and trying to keep his grown son on the straight and narrow, Tony Valentine is a great protagonist in Swain's "casino noir" novels. Always entertaining, always exciting, always a sure bet.
Jeffery Deaver- The Bone Collector. Deaver had written many suspense novels befor this one but this was the debut of quadripeligic criminologist Lincoln Rhyme. One of the most engrossing novels I've ever read period.
This is only a small list.I have many more but due to time I have to cut out now.But I'll be back with new recommendations at a later time. Peace!
